Wednesday night last week Macey and I were deep in discussion and sent the boys up to brush their teeth before bed. It was already a late night for them as I don't get home until almost 8:30 pm. With the warmer weather and sunlight they have been up a little later than usual. While talking with Macey I saw one of them streak into the dinning room. I thought it was Adron. Macey and I went upstairs to say goodnight and Houston wasn't there...I found him under the piano bench in the dinning room...sweet boy. (With "brown" of course;)

Adron is doing great with baseball. At the Saturday he hit 3 homeruns! Every time up to bat he knocked to the fence and rounded the bases.

We have been taking Adron out on the town these days to have some daddy and mommy time. In December we took him to NarroWay Productions to see the Real Christmas Story. The Show was great and Adron did a great job sitting like a little man. He did jump into his dad's lap when the Grinch came out. All the children in the play were running around screaming, so I think that might have had something to do with it.

This week we introduce him to the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats vs. the Chicago Bulls. Surprisingly the Bobcat won 114-108, the Bulls never led. Adron went to school that day telling everyone that he was going to watch the Chicago Bulls; it was cute to hear him say that. Our tickets came with hotdogs, drink, t-shirts in a cute little bag. I'm not sure if Adron liked how high we were in the stands, maybe that's why he didn't move very much. We ask him if he needed to go to the bathroom, he quickly said NO Way! But later on that night he decide that he needed a pizza because the Cheerleaders were giving some away. The game was a lot of fun, and entertaining, Adron really enjoyed it and asks if we could come again and go to a hockey game and bring bear. (aka Houston)

Christmas 2009

Today Houston got his first haircut! I know, crazy. He's 27 months old. He did a great job chill'n in the chair and followed all the stylists instructions...look down and so on. Yep, pretty proud.

Christmas was a blast this year! The boys got great gifts from Santa and family. We especially like the trampoline, nerf blasters and the $2 swords. We've been battling it out here at the house. "Daddy, chase me!" is the most used phrase. And I do, chase them, that is. Endless fun.

Macey's parents headed back home this morning. It's always great to have them here -their stays are always too short. We enjoyed looking at Christmas lights (like the Kranks), the church Christmas Eve service and the boys singing their new found Christmas songs, including songs from "A Midnight Clear" we put on at Providence Road.

Summer Time?

T he boys and I went to Toys R Us one weekend when Nathan was working on a Sat. We had fun looking at all the water toys and picking out something fun for the backyard. We found a super slip-n-slide that has a small pool that you land in. The age range is 3 tops year, but I felt like Houston could hang out in the pool side while Adron could act like a wild man.

Last weekend Adron stayed the night at a friends house, on Sat. Nathan and I set up the new pool, big excitement for Adron when he got home. We got home to late to show him, but Sunday morning to his surprise he had a pool to play in. The weather didn't work in our favor, as Adron says "God's bowling again". (it rains a lot) No swimming on Sunday, we insured him that we would try again on Monday. Monday was here, thats all Adron could talk about was hanging out in the pool. Again "God goes bowling" again and to add to the rain it was very very cold. We had on pants and long sleeves, disappointed again we took the boys to the "book store" (Barns and Noble) to keep minds off of cold weather.

Tuesday God put the bowling pins up and we enjoyed some sun shine after school while Houston slept. When Houston got up from his nap he joined us for some slip -n-slide' fun. I've said this so many times, Houston make the sweetest faces that make me LOL. He made lots of faces trying to be like his big brother and make it up the slide.

The next group of picture I'll have to tell you about them because some how, some way they are lost on the computer, deleted, we can't find them. We think that when Nathan pluged his phone in to save his picutres, his pictures got saved on top of mine. Nathan is always telling me to live in the moment, put the camera away, I always have my camera out trying to get the "money shoot". Nathan loved that I had my camera out this time we took pictures of the boys, and me when was the last time we all seen that? We had went on a adventure to Grandma Longbons's house to walk out in the field, play with the cows, play on the tracker, and enjoy the open sky and freedom that they boys may not see all the time in the city. We had took picture of the boys with grandma's house in the background, this meant a lot to me, grandma's house was the place I spent most of my summers. Riding my bike with my cousin Seily over to her house and playing up stairs for hours. A great picture of the cows grouped up in the field with he colors so bright.

Easter pictures from our house that I had took on Easter morning. Nathan had gone to church extra early that morning; he had 3 services to do and a musical during class time. Like most Sunday mornings it is my job to get everyone to smell nice, dress, feed, and out the door. On Easter you got to take a picture outside that what you do on Easter Sunday. This Sunday I had some extra time, I had all the clothes ironed, diaper bag packed, and bags packed the night before. (Leaving after church to go to IL) I get the kids out to take their picture with the pretty flower in the yard everyone saying "Cheese" pushes the button to snap the shoot, and the camera dies. Take the kids back in, get new batteries, bring them back out to do this all over again... didn't get that same pictures, happy and cheesing, but did get a really funny picture. Houston was making a cute face that made me laugh and Adron has it down pat how to act when I get the camera out. All that work, and lost it to!!!

The family and I are hoping one day they will just magically appear, lesson learned, don't delete them off your camera until you store them someplace else too.

April 11th

This was our first Easter egg hunt with the prcoc. We went to squirrel Lake Park to hunt eggs and play. I was with Houston and Nathan was with Adron, more pictures of Houston then of Adron.

Houston had fun finding the eggs this time, opening them up and dropping the candy onto the ground. Didn't understand that he needed to put the eggs in the basket and he could keep going. By the end he was doing much better and wanted to pick other peoples eggs too.

Adron was done in 2 seconds because the limit was 20; I think Nathan and Adron had a hard time counting.

Houston makes the sweetest faces when he wants to; I had fun trying to catch him in the act.

April 9th Easter

We have had lots of Easter events between school, church and a road trip.

Adron had an Easter egg hunt on the "big" playground, Nathan came to join us because I needed to be with my class on the "small" playground and Houston is in my class so it worked out this way I could be with him. More picture of Houston that day because I had the camera but Nathan had his fancy phone. I had my kids practice in the classroom picking up eggs and putting them into your bag. They didn't really get it, or my expiations were a little too high. They didn't care about the eggs, they didn't have any candy in them any, all they cared about is they got to out to the playground again and ride bikes. Everyone got a little treat bag to take home that way it would be far to everyone. Love this idea, not so much candies this way and they put fun things in there like books and bubbles.

Adron had his candy ate by the time he got to me, I'm sure he had a little help from his daddy.

At the start of April we had a few nice days of sunshine. We breeze was somewhat cold, but it was nice just to see the sun so we could go outside. Last year in Charlotte it didn't rain so much and we had a drought forever. This year we have been making up for it and it rains about every 4 days or so. On this Saturday we got out of the house early to begin our adventures of the day.

Adron want to be a super hero these days and will get into costume anytime you will let him. Thanks to some friends he know has, Spiderman, superman, robin, caps (my mom made) and light savers... ect... He will wear these fancy outfits to the store, park, to ride his bike and mow the lawn. We are thankful that he is using his imagination and not wanting to watch a "show" all the time. He is also into guns, wipes, racecar drivers, we went to some yard sales together and have found some great toys and superheroes for a few dollars, and he’s a good shopper.

Houston is into drinking out of juice boxes, he makes the cutest faces when he drinks out of a straw. Anytime you open to door he wants to be outside with you. He talks really really fast these days to keep up with Adron and his superhero talk, which we can't really make out what he is saying. His favorite words are yep, no, cookie (he's really talking about a cracker) He loves chocolate, and yes to those of you who know me well your thinking I don't give it to him. He eats so well that he makes the cutest faces when you give him M&M's. He loves to eat bean, apple (and says it really clear) grape (when we are in Sams he goes nuts when he see's them) green beans (he calls them beans) still working on meat he will eat a McDee's cheeseburger any day, yuck! You can catch him hanging out behind Adron doing whatever Adron is doing. Houston is 19 months going on 4 he thinks.

It's fun being Houston's teacher, I get to give him the healthy snacks or take away the unhealthy ones when I think he has had enough. It's my camera, so when I see something super cute I get to catch it.. The downside is, when he gets sleepy around 12:30ish he's ready for me to stop being teacher and be his mom and not play with the other kiddos. That's when we get out the bubbles and sing songs. By the time we get out to the car, 1:15ish, he's about asleep and will sleep for a few hours after that.

The boys had some fun playing in the snow for the first time, it snowed today and we had no school... brrrrr it's really cold here. Monday morning I made a great big breakfast and Adron had 6 bacon, egg, biscuits and gravy. Houston ate some fruit but not much at all. Houston had a poopy diaper so I changed it and it was a good one so into the bath we go. I fix him all up and the boys and I are playing in Houston room... when... I don't hear Houston, don't see him... I'm thinking this boy must be in the bathroom in the toilet water, he loves to hang there. Walk around the to the bathroom, nope not there.. Still to quite. I find him climbed up on the table eating Adron's biscuits and gravy, drinking his milk and making a great big mess.. I was LOL!! His little belly got so full I thought he was going to burst. Add this to the new favorite things to do for Houston, eating Adron's food in the big boys seat.

Nighttime is always so special, dinner, bath, watch Backyardigans, read Backyardigans and turn off lights. Houston can't go to bed until he tell Adron "Ni Night", now Adron has to be in bed for this to happen. Houston always wants to read a half a story before going back into his room. Tonight he was pointing to Adron's room, saying "Ni Night don". I get the camera out to take a few pictures of the sweet boys reading their book, and Houston say's "eeeezzzz" for cheese to take a picture. Half the story was over and Houston pointed to his room, he said "Ni Night bear" we went into his room I held him for a while as he sang the Backyardigans song... sweet dreams

Moving over Christmas was not the best idea. It's cold, so there is only so much time I could get outside to work on the rest of the boxes. We now have the car in the garage, so I have a few more boxes that I'm working on. I found the nose sucker for Houston after I had to go buy another one. I found all my Tupperware that I had just bought over thanksgiving to replace my others that don't have lids. My crafts are all in place, and Houston's room has the final touches to it. I like to take pictures of my work, to show Nathan that I was working today and not playing with toys, plus it might not look like this when Nathan gets home because it's Wednesday and it's a long day for him, and C, I wanted to show all of you a part of our wonderful house.

Hello World it’s the Tillotson’s again, back to share with you the past month of activities. I haven’t been blogging because, well, I’m a little overwhelmed to say the least. I don’t know how, where, to start. This has been a busy month of: moving, Christmas programs, long nights with out my husband/dad, unpacking boxes, sending out Christmas cards, sending out New Years card (to those that didn’t get Christmas cards), Christmas parties, Christmas, guest, dinner parties after a week of being in the house, New Years parties, training for a half marathon, washer broke, washer got fixed, next hour washer broke, getting a job, Houston going to school, finding new Dr.... the list goes on and on.

Here are a few pictures of the past few weeks to hold you over until something fun happens. Thanks for asking, and asking my mom when I was going to blog again it wasn’t my idea to move during Christmas time. Happy New Year

Houston is my little helper. He has been helping me put things in boxes, if we are putting in books in the box, he will put blocks in the box. I love the help! We will put things in right places when we get to the new house. Thursday night H was helping me cook and as I was moving a pan off the HOTTT stove he put his sweet little fingers on the burner. Trying to find my phone, down the stairs to my car with both kids, up the stairs, down the stairs, up again I found it. Called the family Doctor, he was breathing so they wouldn't talk to us, called Nathan, called my mom. Couldn't find Adron's shoes to take them to Urgent Care, Houston needed pants and a jacket, both kids in the car! Did I tell you how Houston was screaming all this time? Adron has no shoes, carry both boys in and we get fixed up. His three little fingers are burned pretty badly. They gave him pain meds, some cream to put on his burn, and wrapped it. He is doing really well, and when he takes off his wrap he tells us to put it back on. I think it feels better when it's on.

We have had a full weekend of Thankfulness. Wednesday night we went to the Thanksgiving eve service. It's always interesting taking the boys to church when they have to watch there dad on the stage and they can't go up there with him. I bring lots of snacks, books, toys, and still Houston doesn't understand why he needs to sit there. Adron does really good, he thinks it's fun to watch his dad and look at his books. Warn out from them, it was home because he had passed there bed time and we needed to get early in the morning.

Thanksgiving day we went to the Turkey Trot 8K and Tot Trot. Adron thinks he won the race and also thinks that I won the 8K, don't want to break the boys heart so I didn't say anything different. It was nice to have them there when I started the race and at the end when I was going up the last hill and really wanted to start walking. My time was great, I was really proud of my training that I had done to make it that far. Still training for the 1/2 marathon, and would like to do a 10k in January sometime. Then it was off to our place to shower up and head over to our friends house for lunch. Because it was Thanksgiving there wasn't much of a spread of food at the race and I was starting to get really hungry. We start with the kid’s plates and I took a few bits of theirs to hold me over. Ummmmm the food was so good, and I must say my green beans were really tasty. There were lots of teenage girls there to help with the kiddos, so I got to eat everything on my plate. Houston had fun running around in circles; Adron had fun playing games with the girls. By 4:30 we all were ready for naptime, so it was time to go home. By the time we got home, Nathan asked what was for supper?? So I started cooking again... but ugg the thought of food was about to make me sick. I was really ready to go to bed!

Friday, 4a.m. I was up and out the door to go shopping. In Dallas, I would shop the sales the days after and could get right in and out. Not so in the Carolina's, there were lines out the doors, 2 Wal-Mart’s, 2 Targets, tried Toy's R us, and Kohl’s I had just about got everything on my list. In the evening we went for a sleigh ride with Peppermint the Pony. Fun, FREE, family fun night with the kids. The boys had a great time and thought that it was cool riding around the shopping mall.

Saturday, meet friends for coffee, then to a party, then short evening because it was time for bed again.

Sunday, Nathan leaves for church at 6:30 in the morning so it's just me getting the family ready for church. Most ministers’ wives are saying SO, we do this all the time, but it's hard when you live in an apartment on the 2nd floor when it's raining. While I try to take a shower, Houston is in the toilet throwing things in there, Thomas the train, things from the trash ect. I have soap in my hair when Adron comes in to go pee and while he is peeing he tells me there are things in toilet. THANKS! Boys ready, check, I'm somewhat ready, check, and Adron heads out the door and Houston is not far behind. I get everyone back in, looking at my watch and you know I'm out of time. Get my coffee and it's out the door again, to find out that it's raining really really hard. Back into the door for rain coats, back out to carry the boys down the stairs, in my heals, out to the car to buckle them in... (sigh) take a deep breath, thinking "why did I want to wear a dress today" or "should we even go" we made it. Kids back out of the car, had to park far away, to find Adron jumping in puddles, and Houston will not keep his head covered. Don't know what happen at church, all I could think about it how we are going to move this week and next and Nathan has a big Christmas program going on next weekend. Deep breath again, tonight should be fun we are going bowling with out life group tonight then pizza. Or in Adron's word "rolling pins with Mr. Jim and Tara". Oh, "pizza shop" too.

On Wed. I take the boys on some kind of adventure. This past Wed. we went to Northlake Mall, our first time there, to see Santa and the Polar Express.. The boys got there picture taken and had the cutest time walking in the pretend snow, sitting on Santa's lap and walking in this huge snow glob. Adron told Santa that we wanted a Spiderman bike and special surprises. Houston just looked at him and didn't say anything.

The past few weeks we have been getting in the mail the Kid's holiday books. Filled with toys and everything a little 4 year old would want. Adron has been carrying these books around like Nathan would carry his Bible around. Our friends Sally and Elijah went to see Santa today and wrote him a nice letter got their picture taken ECT. This gave me the idea as well to share the story about Santa to the A man. He loves the idea of it and we decided that it was a good time to color him a page, write a letter and start making the cookies for him.. This is his letter

Dear Santa:

My name is Adron and I live in Dallas North Carolina. You’re my best friend in the whole wide world. My friend Elijah would like a guitar for Christmas, he is my best friend. I would like a guitar hero so I can play with him. I've been a good boy, I eat all my broccoli and that helps me grow big. I need some friends in my club for Christmas.

Houston would like two sisters please, and add another brother for me. I will give you a gift to Santa. Santa daddy and I would like bikes to ride please. Mommy would like some boots and cookies.

Trick or Treating

Friday night we went to Ms. Tara's house so she could take the kids Trick or Treating. We call them our Texas friends here in NC, they know what I'm talking about when I say "good handmade tortillas" they moved here from Houston and still have family there. On Halloween in there family every year they make enchiladas and all the fixn's. I'm glad we will be apart of this every year, Ms. Lisa knows how to make some good Mexican food.

We went trick or treating and Adron was so excited to be with the big kids. We had a good time watching them get candy, even Houston got out of the stroller and went up to a few doors.

Tonight the kids and I went to the Untied Faith schools Fall Festival. This is where Adron goes to school; we saw his teacher, Ms. Tammy and had so much fun gathering candy into our little bucket. I was thinking back to our other Halloweens in Dallas and how my friends always made fun of me for not giving Adron candy. I’m lol because Adron had really good idea on what to do with out candy that he had won playing games. (Dana and Candice this is for you)

Living the Dream...

I’m thinking about back in the day when all I wanted to be when I grew up was a hairdresser. This is still the case today; add on fashion designer to the mix. One day I would love to make my own clothes, wishing I had watched Grandma Longbons when she was trying to teach me how to sow.

I remembering back to my childhood when mom and dad went to Evansville IN to go shopping and left me at home, so I could be up to no good. I remember thinking when you leave I’m so cutting my hair off. I had all that power in those scissors. I cut inches off my hair to a cute uneven bob. Yes, I got into big trouble, and yes mom had to fix it.

I’m getting all my hair cut off on Monday, so the excitement is they’re wishing I could do this myself. I’ve watched to many hair shows today and feeling very creative today. I feeling, yes I can do this, WOW this would be so much fun, oh where are my scissors, I could be the next hair show STAR. It’s off to cut some hair… ready… set …. Houston was my first model! Know, he has never had a hair cut before, I didn’t talk to Nathan about this, and feeling like I’m going to get into trouble … But oh my he looks soooo cute!!! He looks great, a little boy and not so much like a baby. Awww, the dream still lives on.. Who’s next??

We are off the high of sugar here in the Tillotson household. 4 Birthday parties, 4 birthday treats, 4 birthday outfits and we have a 4 year old.

Things to look for in a 4 year old so far:
Big storytelling
Picking on his brother
Spelling (mom and dad can't say some words in code)
New dr gives to many shots (this made me teary)

Adron is very sweet, we get extra hugs and kisses and he tell us "I so glad to see you today". When I come in each morning from running Adron tells Nathan (he is almost always still asleep) "mommy's here, see see", and won't stop telling him until he says hello to me. This gives we great joy to have Nathan wake up this way, I'm sure he enjoys it too.

Things to look for in a 1 year old so far.
Big story teller (we have yet to figure out what he is saying, he just points a lot with his fingers)
Loves baked beans
Needs a hair cut, but it's hard he is only one
Had to have his one-year shots the same day and time as big brother (this was a hard day)

Houston is always super sweet; he gives us extra hugs and kisses and pats us on the back while hugging. Learning about dogs and cats and what sounds they make. Loves his new books that he can feel with, he even carry's them around. Houston is still my good sleeper; he is almost never awake when I get home in the morning.

Update on the parties:
Grammy Lesa and Papaw Rick put on a great party with golf, yummy cake, and the Etheridge sloppy joes. He had a great time playing and hanging out with people that we hadn't seen in a long time.

On the 11th we went to Monkey Joe's for some bounce house fun! The boys both brought one friend then we can back to our place for pizza and cookie cake. Elijah and Lawson got the boys a really cool racetrack with some car. The boys LOVE it!

We are in IL today having our 2nd birthday party for the boys. My mom and sister have been planning for the "golf" party for over a month. Adron has been waking up early for over a month to ask if this is the day we go to papaw's house. Papaw made a 4 hole, "watergrass alley golf course".

I'm thankful for my families’ time and energy that they have put into the party. I'll I have had to do is drive here and bring the boys.

Tuesday morning the boys woke us up at 5:30 because they couldn't wait to get on the road. I was going to get up at this time anyways and go for a run to have some time to myself, but that quickly changed into lets get on the road asap. 6ish to 7 hours with stops we were in Nashville TN. We spent the night, had a great morning hanging out at Otter Creek, a great little lake and trail area. Then papaw came to pick us up to take us back to his house.

Yesterday we went to Grandma Nancy's house for party #1, good food, and way to much cake and great new toys to play with. 1 party down 3 to go. Just an update on the boys I'll be posting full details and pictures soon

We have been enjoying the weather here in the Carolina’s. Lots of baseball, outside eating, playground playing. Watch Nathan pitch the ball to Adron, he always hits a homerun. Houston likes to watch, and eat the balls.

IT'S OVER....

with my strike on blogging that is. Nathan has been giving me a hard time about my blogging lately so I gave up for awhile. Put I decide that our family and friends were in desperate need of knowing what we are up to here in the Caroline's.

Family news: We had a great long weekend hanging out with friends. Friday night Nathan and I went out without the kids, and the boys had fun with their babysitter. We went swimming, shopping, played some baseball. Sunday we went to church had lunch, supper, breakfast, lunch and supper with our friends the Loftis's. We went to there house so he boys could play, Elijah is Adron's age and Lawson is Houston's age so everyone has someone to play with. The adults stayed up until 1 a.m. eating and enjoying each other’s pictures of kids, wedding, and life before we knew each other. We stayed the night, didn't get much sleep because those kids get up so early. We stayed for breakfast, the older boys went to ride a train, and the mom's and the babies hung out and relaxed. By the time we got done talking it was lunchtime, so we had some lunch together. Sally is a really good cook, and I enjoyed watching and learning a few new things. Thanks Sally for all your hard work! We went home for a few hours then meet them again for supper at some more friends’ house. awww, I don't think that any of us have caught up on our sleep yet.

Adron news: He has started school, library classes, still keeping me on my toes. Everyday I can see how much older he is getting. He helps me out with Houston, or should I say telling on him or picking on him. Ms. Tammy is his new teacher; they have been painting, playing with "cars and tracks". On Friday they go to the 4 year old classroom and work on the "writing without tears" workbooks. He will also be doing activates with Elijah on Fridays. He played with Charlie and his two sisters they are the triplets in his class. He has been planning his birthday party that is in Oct. at his Grammy and Papaw's house. He wants everyone to play golf and eat "Chak-o-lut" cake. He says Houston's cake will be "menella". He wants" games, golf, toys, 2 movies, 10 balloons 2 of them to be small, and and and".

Houston news: He WALKS!!!! OH NO is right. He is on the move getting into everything, or should I say putting everything in his mouth. He loves table food, I've just done fruits and veggies, and he is doing really well. This week we are working on grapes and squash. Next week we are going to work on beans and pears. He has apples and green beans down pat. He also has a library class on Thursday mornings. Sing songs, play with toys, and read a story. He is still my good sleeper. With his blanky and pasy he gets a big smile when you lay him down. We took him to the Dr. and he weights 20 pounds, (25%) head is 90% and length is 90%.

Nathan news: been working hard, Zoe in Nashville in Oct. Nov, he is traveling and putting on his own workshop. The honeymoon phase is over and his job is becoming more changeling, put he enjoys it very much.

Macey news: Still trying to work on my training with Sally, because our race in at the end of the month. Missing Adron like crazy when he is at school, it's very quite around here. Keeping the place clean and picked up, my job is a lot easer without Big A running around here.

Where we left off...

We are back home, still recovering from our wonderful time with Miss Maddie, Candice and Rob. The rest of the trip was more fun times at the beach, sand everywhere you look or stand, it was even in my gum. Candice was great about organizing our food and cooking for us. On Wednesday we went to the Giggling Mac? Something? We called ahead and there was an hour and 1/2 wait so the guys went on a head to wait it out for us while mom's and kids got ready. It was a fun place to hang out, Adron found golf, not sure how he found it, really family friendly place. When you go to a place to eat on the beach you should really order something fishy, but Candice and I don't like seafood. Thank goodness, because it was $17 a plate for friend shrimp. OUCH! I got a side salad, which was really pretty good, and then ate off of everyone else's plates. Adron was to excite to eat because there was golf on the main floor. Houston was busy gagging on something green he found and Miss Maddie wasn't to interested in her grilled cheese sandwich so I helped her out on that. Next time we won't go back there, Candice's cooking was way better! Also by Wednesday night the girls were crying because they won't be seeing each other for months again. The boy's were already tried of this; they reminded us that we had many more days to hang out with each other before the trip was over.

Back up on Wednesday went to the beach, it takes about 30 min to get the outside stuff ready, umbrella’s, chairs, blankets ect. By the time that's all up, you get the kids out there and they last about 30 minutes and they wanna go in. The guys took them in, and Candice and I got to hang out on the beach. I can't sit still so I spent my time in the water getting beat up. Candice enjoyed her book in the shade (she had gotten way to much sun the day before) I had fun in the water, riding those waves is a blast!

Thursday we went back home. Ordered pizza, went to Target and crashed. Candice and I woke up in the night getting sick.. The only thing that we had ate different then everyone else was Strawberry/mint gum. Watch out don't chew it!!! We spent the rest of the morning getting sick, then the afternoon sleeping. Not the day we had planned.

What we really wanted to be doing:
Swimming
Shopping (great shop I wanted to take her to called Hand picked)
Cleaning
Going out to eat
Hear some music in the evening.

We ended up going to "Chic-a-lay" (that is what Adron calls it) for some soup; we hadn't had anything to eat all day! That made me fill better, I even cleaned after that...

Saturday Nathan took them to the airport for a sad good bye, then it was off to a wedding and some friends came over to swim with us.

Thanks Candice for cleaning all our clothes, and being such wonderful guest! Can't wait until the next trip! We got to get that shopping in!

Today we are just hanging out. We had a great church service this morning. Houston got to hang out with me because he wasn't aloud in his class because he had to many poopy diapers this morning. It was nice to have him sit with me. He was soooo good. Everyone here is asleep, we have life group tonight, I'm thinking about closing my eyes for a while.

Hello from the beach

We just wanted to say hello and give you a update on our trip. The kids are having so much fun together again. Maddie is fun to be around and it's really fun to have a girl in the mix. We spent yesterday at the beach, hanging out at our place and walking to the ice cream shop (then the guys had to run back to get the cars because the babies were to tired)

A few high lights of the boys:

Houston got 2 more teeth in so he has had a hard time in the car, screemed for 2 hours. Candice and I got in the car with Adron because we couldn't handle it any more. He is doing better eating everything off the floor then gaging on it later.. ok maybe not much better

Adron learned a new dive, he calls it the "Praying to God dive" He puts his hands together like he is praying and then thinks he dives in. I don't have a picture of this yet I was in the pool with him. Adron and Nathan went to play some golf, Adron said "I don't wanna go to du beach i'd play golf better" with this proud look on his face. Last night when we went to the golf there was a long line at every hole. Not much to do here but play golf and eat.

I am taking a break with the babies. Houston and Maddie are sleeping. I went jogging this morning and went 6 miles I think, did not mean to do this, the gate was locked when I got back so I had to turn around and go another way... sound crazy, I know, it's a long story and no one thinks this happen around here... it's off to read a book "the shack" it's really good.

What the Tillotson's have been up to..

Summer activities have been keeping us busy around here. There have been your usually summer fun, swimming, cooking out, ball games, and camp. Last week, the boys and I ran around going different places then hit the ball field in the evening. Nathan was at work camp at the church; by the end of the week we were ready for some sleep. I had fun playing ball again, then being a mom when I got into the dug out. I played first base and had the best time doing the splits to catch the ball. I got a few bumps and burses along the way, but nothing worth showing off. Friday night I went by myself and we lost the game, I'm thinking next time I need my lucky boys with me. Or maybe it's because Adron thinks his mom is soooooo cool because she plays "bceball" and I do a better job knowing that he is watching. Looking forward to playing with the PRCOC ladies in the spring. I do, however, need a new ball glove. I had retired mine and put it up for some home decor in Adron's room. I'm thinking about a pink glove, batting gloves, and shoes might make a great statement to the other ladies. One team even had on pink shirts and skirts they made a great fashion statement but the also came in last place, but they looked cute and they were very nice.

Nathan's still working all the time and loving his new job. He still gets every Monday off to hang out with us, I tell yaw when he's home we do more work so we need Tuesday to recover from adventures with dad. He has been swimming a lot in the evening to get some exercise.

Ohh more about me. Along with my softball career I've started training for a race in Sept. I got a great schedule M-Sat. of cross training, walking, and running. I've also changed my diet to a vegetarian diet to help me run faster, not carrying all this baby weight. Back to the family....

Houston: growing like all good boys should. He does a "Houston crawl" that is moving on his hands and one leg. He can also walk beside you if you are holding one of his hands, pulls up. He is eating table food. He screams for my chicken, noodles and slow cooked green beans. Banana's, apples, cooked carrots, bread, cheerios (I found this one out when I helped teach his ss class) plus 10 oz of formula before bed. He sleeps so well, takes great naps and goes with the flow with Adron's activities. He talks all the time, new words this week.. "ut oh" or sometimes it's "o o" dada, momma, and he talks with his hands to Adron like he knows what he is telling him.

Adron: eating us out of house and home. Growing way to fast, and it's hard to believe that he will be 4 in a few months. The best thing I can come up with that he is doing new these days its "burting" on command. Adron's dictionary of a "burt" is a fart, windy, toot. We have never told him different because he thinks this is funny and you never know when he needs a good laugh. So when we are in Wal-Mart and he is bored he will throw out a good one and just die laughing... Really I'm laughing inside, while telling him not to do that AT ALL!! But I guess it's an Etheridge thing, his uncle will be so proud.

This week our friends from Dallas, Maddie, and her parents come into town to join us at the beach. I will not be posting due to no Internet service there.. oh darn going to have to spend my days on the beach!

We made it back to NC safe and sound. Very tired and it took us the rest of the week to recover from the time change and jet lag. The kids did great with all day traveling and slept on the planes. That gave me a few minutes to close my eyes and take a deep breath.

Friday Nathan took the day off to hang out with us. It had been 3 weeks to long, that we had spent time together. We headed out in the morning to Cane Creek to go hiking; Adron was saying "hocking", and paddle boating. Houston enjoyed to part where he had to put on a life jacket. Next it was walking in the woods. We saw many bugs and huge spiders! Adron also found a Barbie with no clothes on. Adron said it was adventure stepping over the horse poop. These city folk know how to rough it.

Today we meet our friends to play at Monkey Joe's. I think Nathan and I had more fun then what the kids did bouncing in the bounce houses and going down the slides. What a work out!!! The kids took a great nap then we went swimming so they would go to sleep this evening. We ended up swimming for 2 hours came back and made homemade pizza for dinner. Houston couldn't stay up long enough for the pizza, but you know who is still up! We had fun hanging out with Nathan again; the boys really missed their daddy. Adron is still talking about Chucky Cheese and asking when we are going to papaw's house again. I think he has been dreaming about the plane rides.

On Saturday we woke up to the smell of pork burgers cooking, orange shake-ups shaking and a small town buzzing about the parade that was happening at 10. We meet my friend Wendy and her girls so we could sit together, help the kids gather candy and make fun of everything a small town has to offer. This is what we found at the parade, huge undies hanging from a line with people that were missing their teeth. It was a great experience for the kids and me. Go ECHS!

Tail gating, big trucks, small town, this is about our 4th of July. There were a lot of "firsts" going on for my boys this 4th. Houston's first firework show, Adron first time in a back of a truck. We had pizza, veggies, and cupcakes for Mom's birthday. Papaw and Adron went to play golf to pass the time away. We got there at 5:45 in an old Walmart parking lot. By 6ish the Etheridge family was all there. There were only a few car at this time but no one had a spread like we did. By dark time the parking lot of packed with big trucks waiting for the fireworks. Start of the fireworks, thank goodness Carson was entertaining or we would have been really boried. Carson would clap and cheer for every boom. Adron was going back and forth between Carson with uncle and the back of the big truck. Houston slept, and Owen was cat napping. The fireworks were not that good but it was fun to hang out with the family. They do this kind of thing all the time and we only hear about it. Like the time they forgot to tell Cassie that they were NOT going to eat pizza and she was there waiting for them... they talk about that all the time... haaa haaa But I say, they forgot to call me too!!!

We are rounding out the last few days here at Papaw's and Grammy's camp. We tired to rest a little this week because we had been running around to much!!

This week we:
Monday: play with our cousins at the Mt. Carmel park. We had so much fun, uncle Jamie even cooked for us... hotdogs... ummmm

Tuesday: We played at Grammy's house with Katie and Riley. We went to the park, went swimming OH, went and got ice cream cones, and last went to Grandma Longbon's house to mess it up, or should I say leave my mark.

Wednesday: We meet cousin Seily and Max to play at the park. We played for 2 hours, it was a nice day. Mommy meet Aunt Cassie to get there feet done.

Thursday: I stayed at Grammy camp and Mommy and Houston went with Aunt Cassie and Owen to Evansville to go shopping. They were gone a really long time. I couldn't stay up for them I took a nap waiting for them to come home. At Grammy camp it rained most of the day so we went fishing. Katie and Riley helped me make little fishes and a poll and we got point for every fist we caught. That was fun...

Friday: Grammy's Birthday!!! We went to my mom's high school friends house and played with Heidi and her new baby sister. We went outside and hit baseballs with her dad, and she even had a swing set and lots of yard to play in. It was back to Grammy's house were she made cookies for us. ummmm and party time in the evening. But I was tired again.... time to take a nap... shshshuuuuu... I'm tired after all of that! Adron

The first day Houston was still on our time in NC so he woke up at 6 a.m. While Adron had stayed up until 10:30 and I had to make him go to bed, way to excited. I'm very tired! We went outside at 8:30; it felt like 10:30 I was already for lunch. At Grammy's house she has so much to play with so we went outside to play in the back. We played baseball for hours, while Grandma Longbons (mom's mom) and Grammy Lesa, Houston and baby Owen watch. Riley, Katie, Adron and I had a fun time running the bases and hitting the ball.

On Tuesday morning the boys and I started our trip to Albion for a fun 2-week vacation. Two flights a long ride to St. Louis where papaw we there to pick us up. Three more hours in the car before see saw the church that I grew up in. Houston loved the ride in the sky; Adron had fun once he saw his papaw. I on the hand was tired, ready to eat, and was hot for lugging two kids around.

Our first adventure was Adron talked papaw into playing golf. They went to the $ store to get there golf stuff. Their first trip lasted 5 minutes. He was so proud of his golf bag. After they got outside he broke everything, so it was back to the store to return them and get a new set. 5 minutes after getting home the 2nd was broken. The golf experience was over.

Nathan has been out of town for the past 5 days. I'm just about to pull my hair out. But I was able to get a few pictures of all the "fun times" we have had.

Macey and the boys treated me right on Father's Day. We started the day out at church...always fun. We ate lunch at Outback, our family favorite. That's where Macey and I ate on our first date. We all took a nap in the afternoon. Whoohoo!

Sunday night we went to Leatherman Golf miniature golf course. We had the greatest time. Adron cracks us up with his golf intensity. He led the way showing us each hole. He always starts at the beginning then picks his ball up and plays it close to the hole. We had a good time laughing and playing together. Houston loves his baby bjorn. It doesn't matter what we do as long as he can watch Adron he's ok. Adron is on a polite streak these days. As we were leaving he said, "Thanks for taking me golf Mommy Daddy." It doesn't get any better than that. On the way home we hit up Maggie Moo's Ice Cream parlor. "Chocolate please". My favorite present is a great picture frame with six pictures of me and my boys for my office wall.

Today we had play group at our place. We went to the pool at 9:45-12. The water feels really nice, Houston was having fun in his float soaking up the sun. Adron swam for hours, we stopped to eat, then back into the pool for another hour of swim time. The boys got so warn out that the slept for hours. I woke Adron up 3 different times from his nap, but it didn't work. I'm sure tonight will be a long night. Tomorrow we have another play date with Elijah. He is coming swimming with us. Cookout with daddy and his praise team in the evening.

Monday we went swimming here at our place. The pool is only 4 feet deep, so the water is really nice. The pool has no tree's so even Houston got in for a while.

It's really hard to get this kid asleep. Even when he was born he didn't want to go to sleep. Now that it is pool season, this kid has had a lot of swimming time in. Last night Nathan did school work so I was home with the boys. Adron went to sleep on his own. This doesn't happen very often. I got to hang out with Houston for a while before he went to sleep. Today Adron went to sleep on the floor. Everyday we have "rest time" this means, be quite so Houston can take his afternoon nap, and watch a movie so I can get some work done. He snuggled up with his Rangers blanket and went to sleep. I had to wake him up for dinner, it was very peaceful getting super ready today. What do you bet that he doesn't go to sleep tonight....

The family had never been to a Waffle house before. We told Adron that we were going this Saturday morning and he was so excited to go to Mr. Waffle's House. ( like this is someone that we know?)

Nathan had always talked about going there when we were in Nashville, and many times they’re with his dad. As we drove around for 30 minutes or so trying to find one, we found one! As we were pulling in Nathan say's " the classy folk go here". OKKKKK, I guess they don’t have a health food menu? Adron and I had waffles, Nathan had some egg sandwich that had pickles on it... yuck! Coffee smelled like smoke, from all the people smoking. In Dallas, you can't smoke anywhere! The nice thing about it was, we were in and out of there in 30 minutes, that's really good with 2 kids! Maybe next time we will order something different.

It's off to a cookout and go swimming. Our friends have a heated pool. It's still a little cold to swim around here. Should be fun!

Here is Adron showing us his gum. This is after Adron got a hair cut by his dad. Houston, wanted his picture taken. It is fun to take his picture now, he is always has a smile for me.

Today is the first time the gang come over to the Tillotson's place to play with us. We played at the playground for an hour, then went to our "crib" for some lunch. Thanks Drew, Korah, Noah for coming to play with us. Ava and Grace, I hope you get to feeling better and can join us next time we really missed ya.

This weekend

We are having a great weekend.

Friday night, we went to Stonecrest shopping center to hear some live music and eat some Taco's. We had fun walking around; the weather was wonderful in the high 70's. We went and got some ice cream than went home.

Saturday, Adron and Nathan went to go get Adron a tennis racket. We have a tennis court here at the apt. and also have a view of it. Adron is learning new sports these day. First golf, if you remember he steals the ball at the country club. Tennis is the latest. He can now hit the ball with one hand on the racket. BOOOO I didn't have my camera with me so I'll be getting more pictures later. He is really proud of the racket, one because his dad got it for him, and two it's new, he even took it to church with us.

After our tennis match, we cooked and headed out to Indian Trail to meet our friends for a cook out. The boys both went to sleep in the car, and wouldn't you know it Adron stayed asleep until we woke him up an hour later. The kids had so much fun playing in the bounce house. Ava, Korah, and Adron were posing for a picture. Grace had fallen out of the bounce house, and Noah, was still eating like a good boy! Thanks Ben and Kendra for opening up your home to us.

Sunday, we went to church. Things are getting better for me, just getting to church. I've started taking the kids to 2nd service; we can sleep in some, and go get donuts. ( we got donuts every Sunday in Dallas, Adron had a HUGE fit when we didn't do this when we can to Charlotte. I have now found the donut shop) This Sunday things were hard for the kids. Adron now know that we are not on vacation, we are really staying here. So going to Jr Worship is hard these days. He went fine into class, after class he wanted to sit with his friends. When it was time for Jr. Worship he wouldn’t go. So I made him go!! After lots of crying and a very long talk, I pushed him in and he did great. Mean while, I've got up from my seat during the service 3 times. I was thinking, ok maybe I can hear some of the lesson. No! My pager went off "Child UPSET" AHHH which one is it? Did I say I was sitting right up front? Oh yea, up again, and this time it was Houston??? WHAT?? He had been crying for a while and wouldn't take his bottle and should have been asleep. Bring him back into worship, he is happy and talking making as much noise has he could, but he was so happy!! 10 minutes later, church was over and I went to go get Adron. Yes, he was so happy and excited to show me what they had done in class... All I can say is don’t ask me what the lesson was about....

Today, Nathan is doing a service project, (that I did yesterday after all that) the boys are I am still in our pj's. Off to another cook out. The playgroup is at my house this week, so I have some work to do. Hope ya'll have a great long weekend...
